There is the argument that companies should manufacture their goods in the United States. The aforementioned Apple has committed to doing so with some (but not all) of their goods (Perry, Wood & Fernie, 2015; Sandoval, 2013)
Just because an employee does not like the conditions or pay he is receiving does not mean the laws are wrong. As long as he is getting the minimum mandatory amounts required by law, the employee really has no standing to do much about it short of joining a unionization effort but that can be a choice that has lasting consequences depending on the situation, the country and the laws of said country (Rhee, Woo & Cho, 2014)
The sheer amount of goods they have the ability to buy in a given time period alone is a boon to them when it comes to negotiations with firms selling their wares. This in turn allows them to have lower prices than many to most other outlets without butchering their profit margins (Tsoi, 2010)

It is noteworthy that a study by da Silveira (2014) found that the rationale in support of outsourcing related primarily to reduced costs and improved flexibility rather than its effects on delivery. These are important issues because effective strategic sourcing and source development have emerged as some of the most important challenges facing many companies today (Alfalla-Luque & Medina-Lopez, 2009)
Taken together, it is clear that IBM has consistently sought viable alternatives to its existing manufacturing needs and has taken steps to reduce costs and improve efficiencies in its supply chain management practices by outsourcing selected manufacturing requirements to developing nations, most especially India as discussed further below.
