Heroism is evident in just about all cultures, from Native American to Greek, Roman, and beyond. The Native American Coyote myth often uses coyote as a mythical hero who can transform himself and has great power, just like most mythical heroes (Lindemans)
On the other hand, the Bible in particular is rather opposite to this idea and this is also true of many other historical or proverb collections that have been published throughout history. In short, selflessness and courage are the true definition of virtue when it comes to the Bhagavad-Gita (Easwaran 2007)
The parallels to the Book of Genesis, the book before Exodus, are obvious and apparently as Adam and Eve would presumably live eternally young had they not eaten the forbidden fruit. Of course, the fruit was presented to Eve in a tantalizing way by a serpent (George 2003)
