Both Sailor Moon and Wonder Woman believe in and use teamwork as part of their overall strategies to combat the evil forces. Japanese culture stresses "team collaboration (sentai) over individual heroism," perhaps more than American culture (Mitchell and Reid-Valsh 155)
They understand that their superpowers entrust them with responsibilities that are not available to the common person, and rather than ignore or shun those responsibilities for an easy life, they persist in pursuing justice and defeating bad guys. Both respond well to the trust and faith people put in them (Rosenberg)
The same can be said for the male superheroes, who are depicted as being handsome. However, the difference is that appearance remains more central for the female superhero due to the need to balance strong with sexy to avoid "denigration" (Tate 155)
